Message topic: Why does God love us so?
Scripture text: John 3:14-21
Strolling through the park or even having a casual walk along a quit street and saying to those you meet on your way that God is love, you will get varied response: such as, if God was as loving and kind as He said of himself, why are there so much suffering of every kind among people everywhere?
Has anyone ever said to you at anytime that God loves you? How can they know that? IS God accessible to you or anyone? How much and what do we know about God
In the record of who God is, we find these words: in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the of the deep, then the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters: And God said, let there be light.
God saw the light that it was good: so he divided the light from the darkness, he called the light Day, and the darkness He called night: and the evening and the morning were the first day.
In the next five days God created the firmament, separate the water from the dry land, He created grass and herbs, fruit bearing trees of every kind with seeds; He separates light from darkness, which is day and night
He created creatures to live in the waters of the seas that they should bring forth abundantly, then He created animals of every kind, even creeping things and it pleased Him: On the sixth day of creation, God said, let us make man in our own image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that crepes upon the earth.
Then God formed or made man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul: at the end of six days of work. We believe that God was so pleased with his work, that He rested on the seventh day from all his work with the man which He had just made in his image, then he said this is a day of rest, so He blessed the seventh day, and sanctify it forever.
Now we have this question in our heart, why does he love us so? The first man Adam had no need of anything, yet he disobeyed the command given to him by God, and became a sinner, and lost his intimacy with God, yet the love of God was still with him.
In the days of Noah the sins of men was so great in the land that God could find only eight people whom he find worthy to be rescued from damnation, and only three was saved from Sodom and go morrow because of their sinfulness.
God said this to the people through his prophet, I will make this covenant with the house of Isreal; after those days says the Lord, I will put my laws in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people: why does He love us so?
God is love, and even when the first man disobeyed and created a space in his relationship with God, he was still loved the same by God as he had ever been and will always be: there is no greater love than the love of God.
Mankind continue to drift further and further away from God, that He decided to come and live a life that was possible for all mankind could pattern and be brought back into true relationship with Him as their guide always and in all things, so he planed a special birth, and became a savior, redeemer of all mankind.
It was Love that sent my savior to die in my stead, why should he love us so? Meekly to Calvary cross He was led, why should he love us so?
Nails pierce his hands and his feet for our sins, why should he love us so? He suffered sore our salvation to win, why should he love us so?
O how he agonized there in our place, why should he love us so? Nothing withholding our sin to efface, why should he love us so?
Why should he love us so? Why should he love us so? Why should our savior to calvary go? Why should he love us so?
This is because God is love and nothing else, and he made it known to all mankind: I am the Lord and I change not: I made you and put my love in you forever.
Know therefore today and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is the God in heaven above and on the earth below; and there is no other.
There is no one holy like the LORD, indeed, there is no one beside you, nor is there any rock like our God.
For the word of the Lord is upright. And all His work is in faithfulness, He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord the all mighty.
All who accept Him, the God of heaven to be our father, he has promised that he will never withhold any good thing from us, so now we know why does He loves us so
Do we love Him as he loved us: do you remember what he said of Jesus at his baptism? This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased: he want to say the same of all who hears his words and follow diligently.
How much thanks are we returning to him for all that he has done for us?
