Message topic: Why does God love mankind so much?

Scripture text: Genesis 3: 19-24

All believers in God, do believes that He is a loving God to all mankind as He demonstrated it to us through His words as recorded in so many of the scripture passages through the bible.

I do believe that the most popular verse in the bible telling of God’s love for mankind is found in John 3:16, for God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten son that whoso ever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This is not the first time or in the first instances in which God demonstrates His love for mankind; we are told that when God came on the scene, it was void and there was nothing but darkness so God created light to drive away the darkness.

God spoke and the waters were separated from the land, and he called the gathering of the waters together seas, and fill them with living creatures: and on the land

He caused all kinds of trees, plants, and herbs to grow, and animals to roam the fields.

After six days of creating all that is in the world today, God said let us make man in our own image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepiest on the earth.

God took six days to complete the heavens and the earth as we know them today; and on the seventh day God ended His work which he had made and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made. Can we think of any other day which the Lord blessed and sanctified for-ever as He ceased from all His work on the seventh Day?

How can we find the deep love that God our heavenly father has for mankind? then why did He put him out of

the garden which He had provided for him in the first place? Was it because He came to hate him, because of his disobedience, or was it because of His great love for the man whom He made in His own image and likeness?

We find the answer in Genesis 3: 22: and the Lord God said, behold the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for- ever: therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

Adam and Eve had eaten of the forbidden fruit and had become sinners and was unable to stand in God’s presence as they were in the beginning, but they were not put out of the garden. They were put out of the garden because of God’s love for mankind to protect them from taking and eating of the tree of life live that would prevent them form ever dying, and live in their sinfulness forever.

The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell: it goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to

the lowest hell: the guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His son to win, His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from his sin. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! it shall for ever more endure, the saints and angels song.

Adam and Eve were sent away from the garden before they ever ate of the tree of life which would cause them to live their lives forever and past it down to all mankind including you and I, who could not die no matter what condition or state we would find ourselves, there would be no redemption for mankind.

God’s love for mankind was what he extended to mankind so we have a hope that all the suffering which we are going through in this world, we do have a hope of redemption because the love of God has been extended to mankind, and one day He will come and fulfill His promise to redeemed us back to himself.

That is why the hymn writer is reminding us that we are redeemed but not with silver, we are bought, but not with gold, we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus

because of his blood which He shed at calvary for all mankind because of his love.

We are told that man was made in the image and likeness of God, but we were not told that all the wisdom and knowledge of Go, but we do know that we are at all times dependent on God for his mercies and protection.

Jesus tells us that the greatest expression of love is for one to lay down his life for his friends: greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends: you are my friends if you do whatsoever I command you.

Why did Jesus come to earth? His love for mankind was so great that though He knew that there were many who would not accept him as who he was, yet He came to demonstrates His eternal love for all mankind.

Mankind is no stranger to Jesus, when God the father said let us make man in our image, Jesus was there, because Jesus is a part of the Trinity which is God the All Mighty: and Jesus told us that He and the Father are one. When Pilot the Roman Governor said to him that he had the power to save Him from the death on the cross, He replied for this cause came I into the world, I came to redeem my friends who hear my voice and is willing to follow me to my father’s kingdom.
