Message topic: What’s Your Destination?
Scripture: John 6: 41-47
Jesus is the only way to heaven: no one comes to the Father except through me: coming to Jesus means a change of heart and life. we must turn away from the wrong things we think and do, things that displeases God: called sin: we must love and serve Him with all of our heart.
Why should we want to go to heaven? in the Old Testament, God uses the prophets to tell the people of a coming redeemer to rescue them from the death which Adam brought upon them through his disobedience to the command given to him when he was placed in the garden of Eden.
In the New Testament, the last book of instruction that God has for mankind whom he loves and desire to save from destruction, God gave instruction to the Apostle John to warn mankind of the last opportunity to choose where they want to spend eternity.
Revelation (21: 1-4) have this message for us in these words: I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
There will be plenty of room in heaven. Our heavenly father will make provision for all who will be saved. On the saddest of sad nights Jesus said. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
The beauty of heaven is beyond compare, this old world in which we live is a beautiful place: on a beautiful day, the sun is shining, you can hear the birds singing, the flowers are in full bloom, you can hear the birds chirping, and the meadows are beautiful: but the beauty of earth is none comparable to the beauty of heaven.
Here we have tears and broken hearts, but not in heaven, and there will be no separation from our loved ones.
Let us not forget that God will be with us, and He will wipe away all tears from our eyes; there shall be no more death, no sorrow nor crying, no pain, for the former things are passes away, and there will always be comfort and rest.
It is a wonderful thought to think that God has invited poor souls to heaven. hear the gracious invitation; and the Spirit and the bride says come. And let him that hear him say, come, and let him that is athirst come, and whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
God is calling us with these words, come now and let us reason together: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; and though they be as red as crimson, they shall be as wool, let us not spurn this invitation from God, this is the only chance.
Heaven will be sweet because of the people we will meet there, people like Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Paul and the many others, we are not able in this mortal body to understand nor comprehend what it will be to be in the presence of God the source of all things in heaven and earth.
I am sure that no rational person wants to go to hell. Hell will be much worse than we can conceive, the punishment will be awful. The remorse will be terrible. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, where their worms dies not, and the fire is not quenched. Who would in their right mind would exchange heaven for hell, let us learn to hear and understand the voice of God so that we will not be deceived by cunning and crafty voice of the devil.
